About us

About Urdu Alfaaz

Urdu Alfaaz is a collection of Urdu poetry, shayari and quotes, founded and run by Junaid Khan. We gather verses from classical and modern poets and sort them by poet and by theme, so you can find what you want to read without searching through scattered pages.

What We Publish

We publish Urdu poetry and quotes in every major category:

  • Poetry by poet. Ghazals, nazms, couplets and individual ashaar from poets such as Mirza Ghalib, Allama Iqbal, Mir Taqi Mir, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Parveen Shakir, Jaun Elia and Ahmed Faraz.
  • Poetry by theme. Love, sadness, separation, friendship, life, faith, patriotism, motivation and more.
  • Urdu quotes. Short sayings on life, relationships, patience and wisdom.
  • Poet profiles. Brief background on each poet so you know whose words you are reading.

We write Urdu text in clear, readable script. You can copy a verse, share it, or save it for later.

Why We Started This Website

Urdu verses spread quickly on social media, and many travel without a poet’s name or with wrong words. People attribute one poet’s couplet to another, and small changes in wording alter the meaning. Junaid Khan built Urdu Alfaaz to give readers one reliable place for Urdu poetry, with the right text and the right name attached.

Poetry also gives people a way to say what they feel. A good verse can express grief, love or hope better than a long explanation. Urdu Alfaaz exists to put those words in front of the people who need them.

Who Runs Urdu Alfaaz

Junaid Khan is an Islamic scholar and an Urdu poet. He loves Urdu poetry and wants to share it, along with Urdu quotes, with people who use it to express their feelings. He selects, checks and publishes the content on this site himself.

How We Keep Our Content Accurate

  • We credit every verse to its poet.
  • We check the wording against published collections and trusted sources before we post.
  • When we cannot confirm the poet, we label the verse “Unknown” and do not guess.
  • We correct mistakes as soon as a reader reports them.
  • We write our own introductions, explanations and poet profiles. We do not copy them from other websites.

Respect for Poets and Copyright

The poets and their heirs own their work, and we give full credit to each one. If you hold the rights to a work on this site and want it credited differently or removed, write to us. Junaid Khan reviews every request and responds promptly.
